This a good site for information about pets and pet care.  We would say it is second only to the veterinary partners site (link located in our medical library).

 

This is a link to Carolina Veterinary Specialists, the local referral center for the Charlotte Area.  This practice includes specialists in medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, neurology, cardiology, and oncology. 

 

 

 

 

This link is to our local center for treatment of Hyperthyroid Disease in Cats.  You can find good information about the disease and treatment using radioactive iodine.

 

 

 

This will take you to the Humane Society page where you can find information about the humane society, adopting animals, and how you can make donations.

 

 

 

This site is for Mecklenburg County Animal Control.  This is useful to find out about adoptions, information about rabies, and information about laws and ordinances regarding pets.

 

There are a two sites you can visit to find information on parasites and how pets can pass them to people.  At CCAH, we now recommend twice a year testing for intestinal parasites and deworming.  The two sites are www.noworms.com and www.petsandparasites.org  

 

 

This site is for pet health insurance.  It is very informative about costs, coverage, how the program works, etc.
